Expanded Metal
Expanded Metal is formed in an expanding press. The basic metal is simultaneously slit and cold-formed, which expands the slits into diamond shaped openings of uniform size and regularity.
Expanded Metal may be produced from carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and a variety of copper.
Types of Expanded Metal
Standard Expanded Mesh offers high rigidity in a variety of sizes and weights. The angles of the diamond strands allow maximum air circulation and distribute stress on the metal to supporting frames.
Flattened Expanded Mesh is manufactured by pressing the standard expanded sheet through a cold-roll reducing mill.
Expanded Metal Grating is fabricated from low carbon steel plates and is ideal for use wherever a strong, durable, lightweight surface is needed.
